September 7, 2019, onboard of FlyingLab from Munich to LA @30000 ft – Starting today, new Flightful app enables airline passengers to stay connected with text messaging on commercial in-flight Wi-Fi networks for free. Available for iOS and Android, the standard service includes text-based messaging on the most popular apps like iMessage, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger.
To start using free inflight text messaging with Flightful, travelers need to use Flightful app to connect to the aircraft’s Wi-Fi network with hassle-free “one-click” login. It uses a safe and encrypted connection for all data to-and-from users’ phone. Currently, there are more than 30 airlines supported and an upgrade to full inflight Internet access is available for $1.
Flightful app is in closed beta testing and will be available in the AppStore and Google Play in autumn of 2019.
