RebelRoam a leading onboard connectivity provider for land based and maritime passenger transportation industry servicing 4,000+ vehicles every month in Europe and the Americas today announced the signing of an agreement with Rede Nacional de Expressos. Rede Expressos is a Portuguese express coach network with a fleet of 700 intercity coaches connecting over 10m passengers per year to more than 400 destinations. The agreement will see Rede Expressos fleet being equipped with Peplink latest generation dual modem cellular routers and RebelRoam’s unique internet traffic optimisation software called RebelRocket.
The upgrade will improve passenger Wi-Fi Quality of Experience by delivering consistent Wi-Fi signal no matter the location via aggregating multiple mobile carrier signals. RebelRoam service will further improve the experience by controlling smartphone behavior, video streaming resolution, and data buffers, thus decongesting the onboard network by around 50%. In addition, the improvements will enable more effortless remote monitoring and management of the Wi-Fi service reducing operational expenses.
