PASSENGER EXPERIENCE OS FOR INTERCITY COACH FLEETS

From cost center to control center.

RebelRoam PaxOS is a fleet intelligence and passenger experience platform. RebelRoam PaxOS turns every intercity coach into a managed digital asset: measurable, supportable, monetizable, passenger-aware. Every trip now gets a score, so you can see whether the ride worked.

The morning that goes wrong

A passenger boards the morning departure. Ten minutes in, she tries to send a work file over the Wi-Fi. It fails. Forty kilometers later she posts that the coach Wi-Fi is broken. At the depot, the router shows green. The SIM shows green. The portal shows green. Every component tested fine. She was still right.

Underneath that morning sit seven problems.

  1. 1. Every light is green. The passenger is still offline.
  2. 2. Three or four vendors, one broken ride.
  3. 3. The signal drops in the same places on every trip.
  4. 4. Pay for premium data everywhere, or accept a bad connection somewhere.
  5. 5. The onboard Wi-Fi is a cost line and nothing else.
  6. 6. No control at group HQ, or no visibility at the depot. And ride comfort itself is invisible.
  7. 7. Nobody can prove the ride worked.

The complaint is on the record; the good ride is not. Whoever speaks last wins the argument.

Passengers judge the ride. Now you see it too.

The Passenger Experience Index (PXI) is one score from 0 to 100 for how one trip went, built from four components: passenger feedback, ride comfort, connectivity quality and punctuality. You set the component weights, the targets and the alert thresholds once, in the portal, for the whole group, and they stay yours.

Diagram: passenger feedback, ride comfort, connectivity quality and punctuality combine into one PXI score per trip, which rolls up to vehicle, route, depot and group.

Passenger Return Intent (PRI) is the passenger’s own answer, given from the seat before the trip ends, to one question on a scale from 0 to 10: how likely is it that she will travel with this operator again on this route. PRI for a trip is the share answering 9 or 10 minus the share answering 0 to 6, so it runs from minus 100 to plus 100.

The question sits on your passenger page, opened by scanning a code in the seat, with no app to download, beside five-star ratings for overall, comfort, connectivity, punctuality, driver and cleanliness that feed the feedback component of PXI.

The passenger page: stars by attribute and the one return question.

Both are recorded per trip, then rolled up, weighted by passengers carried, to the vehicle, the driver, the route, the depot, the region and the group.

When a route, a vehicle or a driver falls below the threshold you set, the control center raises it, names the component that moved and lists it for the person responsible. The passenger closes the loop from the seat on every trip. Whoever speaks last no longer wins.

How RebelRoam PaxOS solves it

RebelRoam PaxOS is one system with four modules. Together they make the ride work and let you see it.

Connect is the connectivity: SIMs, Starlink and mobile networks, two or three at once, so the passenger stays online when one drops. RebelRocket SIM Cloud lends the coach a premium SIM only where the cheap one fails.

Edge is the software on the coach’s own router. It keeps the ride working through tunnels, ferries and borders, protects the video call and slows the download.

Ops is what you see: one dashboard for the whole fleet, a driver app for incidents and live support, sensors that make ride comfort measurable, and every ride on record.

Experience is what the passenger sees: a page opened from a code in the seat, under your brand, where she says how the ride was while still on board. Sell a better connection on it for a small fee and keep the revenue.

Why one system. RebelRoam PaxOS is quoted, scoped and run as one system with four modules, never sold separately. One contract, one supplier, one number to call. Policy set at group HQ reaches every coach without a site visit. Coach data flows into your own reporting systems.

What it costs to run

RebelRoam PaxOS delivers roughly 30% lower connectivity cost than a comparable managed onboard connectivity setup, for equivalent or better service.¹

¹ The figure is an expectation from RebelRoam’s own accounts, and every prospect validates it per account, on the operator’s own routes and data bills.

Where RebelRoam runs today

RebelRoam runs today across 4,000+ vehicles in 36 countries on three continents. RebelRoam provides services for FlixBus globally on more than 2,300 monthly-active Peplink MAX Transit Duo Pro-powered coaches.

How to start

It begins small. One route is enough. One branch is enough. One depot is enough. Pick the run you argue about most, and start there.

A pilot is not a rebuild. RebelRoam PaxOS runs on the routers the fleet already has, where those routers support it. Nothing that works gets ripped out, and the coaches keep their timetable.

Success is agreed in writing before anything is switched on: what is measured, who reads it, what counts as a pass. With PXI and PRI in the frame, that agreement names the routes, the period and the targets you want to see held.

The pilot is paid, and it carries a clause that turns it into service once the agreed criteria are met. It runs all four modules on the chosen route: Connect, Edge, Ops and Experience. When it ends, you hold your own numbers.

Why for me

If you own digital transformation. You need the fleet to get there without ripping out equipment or losing a year. RebelRoam PaxOS does it on the router most fleets already have, with numbers the board can compare across brands.

If you are the Commercial Director. You care that the onboard experience carries your brand, that the complaint reaches the depot before the post, and that the revenue from a better connection stays with you.

If you are the Head of Operations. You care that the ride works through the tunnel and the ferry, that the driver has one place to raise a problem, and that each depot sees its own coaches.

If you are the IT Director. You care that the software runs on the router the fleet already has, that policy set once at HQ reaches every coach, and that the data lands in the systems you already run, every change on the record.

About RebelRoam

We spent almost ten years making onboard Wi-Fi work for Europe’s biggest coach fleets, and learned an honest lesson. The router was never the problem. The missing piece was the operating layer that makes the whole service visible, supportable and worth money. So we built it: RebelRoam PaxOS, the platform that turns every coach from a cost center into a control center.

RebelRoam was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, with a team of more than 25 specialists. RebelRoam is a Peplink Platinum Partner and an Authorized Peplink & Starlink Solution Provider, and develops its own software products, RebelRoam PaxOS and RebelRocket.

Every coach, one platform.
